Easy Lemon Butter Fish Recipe

This Easy Lemon Butter Fish Recipe is so quick that it gets ready in 15 minutes. With ingredients that you probably have in your kitchen pantry, this Lemon Butter Fish turns out to be awesomely delicious.

I am making this recipe with the Nile Perch fish fillets. This is a freshwater fish with firm white flesh that you can get frozen from any fish mall.

Fish like the Indian Salmon, Basa, or any fish with white flesh goes well with today’s recipe. We first season and fry the fish with mild herbs and then coat it with a lemon and butter sauce.

The lemon, garlic, and butter add a wonderful flavour to the fish. To add an Indian touch, I am using coriander leaves into the butter sauce.

This Recipe is

  • Easy to make
  • Cooks under 15 minutes
  • Buttery, flavourful, aromatic and tangy
  • Loved by the fussy fish eaters too.

Ingredients

FISH. I recommend any firm white fish for this recipe. Today I have used the Nile Perch and I must say that I am very pleased with the result. Fish fillets like Indian Salmon (Rawas) or Basa also go well with this recipe.

BUTTER. For a nice buttery- garlicky flavour add lots of butter. When you add garlic to this butter, the aroma is just irresistible. Hence I highly suggest that you do not skip garlic in this recipe.

GARLIC. Garlic adds an aromatic flavour to this pan-fried fish recipe. Use lots of garlic but chop them finely before using it for the recipe.

GREEN CHILLIES – Just one or two finely chopped green chillies are enough to add a little more spice to the recipe. You could also skip chillies if you wish to.

HERBS & SPICES. Use any herbs that you like, while marinating the fish. Also, a little chilli flakes and pepper powder is what I recommend. Feel free to use herbs and spices to suit your taste but keep it mild. Do not overpower the fish with spices or you will lose out on its natural flavours.

CORIANDER LEAVES. Use parsley or cilantro or even dill if you like for the Lemon Butter Fish Recipe. If you prefer the Indian touch then go ahead and add some coriander leaves like I did.
