Easy Banana Bread 4 Ingredients

Craving a delicious and moist banana bread? Gather these 4 ingredients and make a delicious and moist banana bread from scratch. To make this moist banana bread, you’ll need 3 overripe bananas and a few basic ingredients.

  • Sugar – I like to use brown sugar/demerara sugar in my banana bread. It gives the bread a rich caramelized flavour and colour. You could also go with caster sugar or granulated sugar.
  • Oil – use any unflavoured cooking oil or melted butter. This oil gives the banana bread a soft and fluffy texture and keeps it moist.
  • All-purpose Flour – Sift all-purpose flour with baking powder, cinnamon powder and salt at least 2 to 3 times. This will ensure that you get a soft and fluffy cake.
  • Eggs– Use 3 whole eggs and add them one at a time while mixing the batter. When using eggs add a teaspoon of vanilla essence too.

For those who do not like eggs, you could substitute eggs with 3/4th cup yogurt and a pinch of baking soda added to it. Set aside the yogurt with baking soda for 5 minutes and then use it in the batter.

Recipe for Moist Banana Bread

You will need 1/3 cup of vegetable oil, three medium eggs, one and a half cups of all-purpose flour, one teaspoon baking soda, half a teaspoon of salt and 3/4th cup of sugar for sweetness. You will also need three or four overripe bananas, mashed.

Put the banana, sugar and oil together in a bowl and combine until smooth. You can use an electric beater for this. Also add the eggs one at a time and beat the batter until light and fluffy.

Sift all-purpose flour, baking powder, cinnamon powder and salt at least 2 to 3 times. Mix dry ingredients separately from wet ingredients then combine the two. To ensure that your banana bread has the perfect texture, it’s important to mix together dry ingredients in one bowl, and wet ingredients in another bowl. This helps keep the batter from becoming too thick or lumpy.

Once you have both bowls prepped, combine the two sets of ingredients together until just blended. Be careful not to overmix or your banana bread could be dense and become crumbly! You could use your spatula or an electric beater on a low speed.

Preheat oven and prepare baking pan.
Preheat your oven to 170 deg C and line a 7 x 7-inch loaf pan with parchment paper. Alternatively, grease the pan with butter or oil and dust it with flour. Pour the banana bread batter into the loaf pan and spread it out evenly.

Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool before cutting into slices and serving. Enjoy!

Fold in any optional mix-ins like nuts or chocolate chips.
Give your banana bread an extra layer of flavor by folding in mix-ins at the very end. Popular mix-ins include walnuts, dates, chocolate chips, coconut flakes and dried fruit. Incorporate your chosen ingredients into the batter in batches, stirring with a spatula between each addition. When your floury mixture is thoroughly combined with an even distribution of add-ins, you’re ready to bake!

Bake until golden brown and an inserted toothpick comes out clean!
Bake your prepared banana bread in a preheated oven until the top is golden brown and an inserted toothpick comes out clean. You can start checking after the specified bake time passes in the recipe. If need be, cover the top of your loaf with foil to prevent it from overbrowning and then continue baking until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with only moist crumbs attached.
