Cook the chicken in the air fryer until it’s crispy and cooked through.
Cooking chicken in an air fryer is a healthier alternative to traditional frying methods, and it also results in a crispy and delicious texture. To achieve this, it’s important to preheat the air fryer and leave enough space between each piece of chicken so they cook evenly. Flip the chicken halfway through cooking to ensure both sides are crispy and cooked through. Once done, serve Chicken Tandoori with your favorite sides and enjoy the flavorful twist on a classic dish!

Experiment with different spices and marinades to create your own unique twist on this classic dish.
One of the great things about tandoori chicken is that it can be customized to your taste preferences. Though I used a store-bought readymade tandoori masala powder, you can try experimenting with different spice blends and marinades to create your own unique twist on this classic dish. Some popular spice blends to try include garam masala, cumin, coriander, and turmeric. For the marinade, you can use yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, and other flavorful ingredients such as mustard oil. Give it a smoky effect with burnt coal, just like restaurant style. Don’t be afraid to get creative and make it your own!

How to Make Tandoor Chicken in an Air Fryer

Gather your ingredients and marinate the chicken.
To make air fryer tandoori chicken, you’ll need skinless chicken legs with thighs, yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, garam masala, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, salt, pepper and mustard oil. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl, then add the chicken and coat it well with the marinade. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results. This will allow the flavors to fully penetrate the chicken and make it extra juicy and tender.

Preheat your air fryer and prepare the chicken for cooking.
Once your chicken has marinated, it’s time to preheat your air fryer. Set it to 200°C and let it heat up for a few minutes, as per the instruction manual. While it’s heating, remove the chicken from the marinade and shake off any excess.

Place the chicken in the air fryer basket, making sure to leave some space between each piece so they cook evenly. Cook chicken in the air fryer for 25 minutes, at 190°C flipping after 15 minutes, until it’s done.

Serve with your favorite sides such as coriander and mint chutney and enjoy your flavorful twist on a classic dish!
