Air Fryer Tandoori Chicken - A Flavourful Twist on a Classic Dish

Flavourful chicken tandoori recipe in an air fryer, quick and easy to make and gets ready in just 25 minutes.

- 500 grams Chicken Legs or 3 Chicken legs with thighs
- 2 tbsp Ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice or juice of half a lemon
- 2 tbsp Tandoori Masala Powder readymade
- 2 tbsp Mustard Oil
- ½ cup Yogurt/curd
- Salt to taste
- Butter for basting
Wash the chicken legs and trim the fat. Make deep incisions on the chicken legs and set aside.
To make a marinade - In a bowl, add ginger-garlic paste, yogurt, tandoori masala powder, lemon juice, mustard oil and salt to taste. Mix well.
Add the chicken legs into the marinade and rub well. Marinate for at least 2 hour or overnight.
Pre-heat your air fryer at 200℃ for 3 minutes or as per the instructions in the manual.
Place the chicken legs in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Then set the temperature to 190℃ and cook the chicken for 25 minutes. Flip half way through and continue cooking till done.
Serve with sliced onions, lemon wedges and mint chutney. Enjoy!
- Always pre-heat your air fryer for better results.
- Air frying time and temperature may vary depending on your oven. Refer to the manual.
- You could skip readymade tandoori masala and use homemade spices instead. For this you'll need - Kashmiri chilli powder - 1 tbsp, cumin powder - 1 tsp, coriander powder 2 tsp, garam masala - 1/2 tsp, turmeric - 1/4 tsp. In addition you may like to add a pinch of food colouring.
