HOW TO MAKE WALNUT FUDGE AT HOME
This Walnut Fudge with cocoa powder is a quick and easy recipe that you can make at home. Simple ingredients go into this walnut fudge. Moreover, these ingredients are easily available at home, especially during the Christmas season and you can whip this fudge in minutes.
To make this walnut fudge at home, you will need a heavy bottom pan to avoid burning the ingredients. Though we cook this on a low flame, the butter and the cocoa powder tend to burn easily.
METHOD
- Add 2 tbsp butter in a thick bottom pan and melt it on a very low flame. This should take you only a couple of seconds and you need to be alert so as not to burn the butter.
- When butter has melted, immediately switch off the flame and add 3 tbsp of cocoa powder. Give this a stir and then switch on the flame.
- To this butter and cocoa mixture add one cup full-fat milk and the entire powdered sugar. Keep stirring for five minutes only, till all the sugar dissolves. This should not take you more than 5 minutes on a medium to low flame.
- Finally, add the chopped walnuts and continue to stir on a medium flame for another 7 – 8 minutes.
- Keep a greased tray ready and pour this walnut fudge mixture into it.
- Knead gently, when the fudge is still warm and then form small balls. Place a cut cherry on each walnut fudge ball. Put the fudge in decorative paper containers.
- Alternatively, you can flatten the fudge in the tray and cut it into cubes when set. Place a cut cherry on each fudge piece.
Storing Suggestions
