How to make meatballs for the Curry

To make perfect meatballs you must select good quality meat with a little fat. Mince with a little fat keeps the meatballs soft and juicy.

For the perfect meatballs curry, the mince meatballs should not only be flavourful but should also be soft and tender. Tender and juicy meatballs in a delicious curry are the key to a good meat balls curry recipe.

Let’s go through the ingredients that go into the making of tender and juicy chicken meatballs.

  • CHICKEN MINCE – I have made use of chicken mince for this recipe. Mutton or beef mince could also be substituted for chicken mince. The recipe still remains the same but the cooking time for the meatballs would differ.
  • ONION – Use one finely chopped onion. Onions tend to keep the meatballs moist and juicy.
  • CORIANDER & MINT LEAVES – We use coriander and mint leaves not only to retain the juiciness in the meatballs but also for its flavours.
  • MASALA PASTE – The recipe for this masala paste for the chicken meatballs gravy is given below. I use a tablespoon or two of this masala paste for the meatballs. My mum always did this and I find that it makes the meatballs more flavourful.

Now that you have got all the ingredients for the perfect meatballs recipe ready, combine them with a little salt to taste. Then form small round meatballs and set them aside for use in the curry later.

I don’t like to fry the meat balls for this curry recipe. These when cooked in the gravy absorbs the gravy and turns flavourful and juicy.

The meatballs when immersed in the hot curry also retain their shape. They also absorb the flavour of the curry and cook to perfection.

Tender and juicy melt in your mouth meatballs is what you want for a perfect Meat Balls Curry Recipe.
