A good host will always be in a dilemma as to what to serve for Christmas lunch, at the same time keeping it traditional.
On Christmas Day, I enjoy having lunch with family and close friends, and a Christmas Lunch Menu is generally traditional East Indian Cuisine.
Here are a few Christmas Lunch Ideas (East Indian) that my family enjoys on Christmas Day and I want to share them with you. You could include a few recipes from here in your Christmas Lunch Menu this year.
Table of Contents
Ideas for Christmas Lunch Starters
- Potato Chops.
For these Potato chops, I have used chicken mince filling and mildly spiced it with homemade garam masala powder (whole spices – powdered) and pepper. The filling has a nice subtle flavour due to the minimum spices used and also a slight tang that comes from the lemon juice. You can also make them in advance and refrigerate them and fry it on the day you like to serve them.
- Chicken Fingers.
These Homemade Chicken Fingers can be the star of your party. They are so quick and easy to make and better than the store-bought ones. You can make these Chicken Fingers in advance and then refrigerate them. Either Pan-fry them or deep fry them and serve them as a starter with some ketchup or mayo dip.
- Stuffed Chicken Roast Recipe (East Indian Roast Chicken Recipe) is one of my family’s favorite. This is a traditional recipe that you will never miss on my Christmas Lunch Table. A stuffing of bread croutons, onions, veggies, chicken liver, etc filled into the chicken cavity and secured with skewers or thread. We then roast the stuffed chicken in a preheated oven, basting it once or twice. This recipe makes excellent Christmas Lunch sides and is much enjoyed by everyone.
Also, try Pork Roast or Beef Roast.
