How to cook delicious Mutton Curry

  • Heat 3 to 4 tbsp of oil in a pressure cooker and add whole spices. Fry for a few seconds and then add the sliced onions.
  • When the onions are light brown in colour, add red chilli powders and turmeric powder and fry for 30 secs. Also add the coriander and cumin powder and fry.
  • Add the washed mutton pieces and fry with the spices for 5 to 8 minutes. Now add salt and beaten yogurt. Mix everything together for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Then add potatoes, if using and a cup of warm water. Cover the lid of the pressure cooker and bring it to one whistle. Reduce the heat and cook for 5 to 8 minutes.
  • Allow the pressure of the cooker to release and then open the lid. Turn on the heat once again and add garam masala powder. Garnish with slit green chillies and chopped coriander leaves. Simmer for 2 minutes and then turn off the heat.
  • Delicious mutton curry is ready for serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  1.  Cooking time will depend on your pressure cooker.
  2. Add water as per the gravy you need, depending on what you want to serve the curry with.
  3. Adjust chilli powder to suit your taste.
  4. Adding potatoes is optional but goes well with mutton curry.
