How to cook Mutton Chops
Prepare the chops by flattening them with a mallet for even cooking.
Wash the chops well and add salt and lime juice or vinegar.
Blend the ingredients for marination into a smooth paste. Apply this paste all over the mutton chops and set aside for at least 30 minutes.
Now transfer the chops into a pressure cooker, preferably in a single layer. Add half a cup of water and pressure cook on medium to high heat until 3 whistles.
Once done, open the lid of the pressure cooker and dry up the liquids completely on a high flame. Then transfer the mutton chops onto a plate to cool.
Boil potatoes in a pressure cooker and mash them when cool. Add salt to the potatoes.
Frying the Mutton Chops
Roll the chops in flour and then coat them with a thin layer of mashed potato.
Next, dip it into beaten eggs and coat it with dried breadcrumbs.
Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the mutton chops until golden on medium heat.
Serve hot with mint chutney or tomato ketchup.
- You could also fry the mutton chops without the potato coating if needed.
- Adjust green chillies to suit your taste.
- Cook potatoes in a pressure cooker and mash with a little salt
- Adjust salt to taste.
