How to Cook Butter Garlic Squids
Remove the thin outer skin by peeling it off. Cut off the head, tentacles, and ink sac. Rinse the squids under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel and cut them into rings.
Place the cleaned squids in a shallow dish. Add ginger-garlic paste, pepper powder, mixed herebs, chilli garlic sauce and salt. Make sure the squids are evenly coated in the mixture. Allow them to marinate for at least 20 minutes.
Heat a fry pan over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Allow the oil to heat until it shimmers.
Carefully add the marinated squids to the hot skillet, and fry until done. Once the squids are cooked, remove and set aside.
Add butter to the same pan and fry the minced garlic until the raw smell goes away. Then add in the lemon juice and the fried squids and sauté for one or two. Finally, sprinkle them with freshly chopped coriander.
Serve butter garlic squids as an appetizer or main course. Pair them with a side of salad or steamed vegetables for a well-balanced meal.
- Don't overcook the squids, they tend to get hard and rubbery.
- Adjust seasonings, herbs and spices to suit your taste.
- Add butter as needed.
- Serve hot.
