Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 cups of fresh javla or tiny shrimp
  • 2 Spring onions with leeks
  • 1 cup Coriander leaves
  • 4 to 5 cloves Garlic
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 5 to 6 Green chilllies
  • 1 tsp Bottle masala or red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp Gram flour (besan) besan
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 to 3 tbsp Cooking oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Clean and wash the javla/tiny shrimps thoroughly. Strain in a sieve to remove any excess moisture.
  • Once completely drained transfer the javla into a bowl.
  • Add all the ingredients and combine well.
  • Gradually add the gram flour (besan), and mix until the mixture holds together. Adjust the consistency if needed by adding more flour.
  • Heat the cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  • Shape the javla mixture into small patties or cutlets.
  • Carefully place the cutlets into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides.
  • Transfer the cooked cutlets to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  1. Adjust chillies and red chilli powder to suit your taste.
  2. Drain out the water completely after thoroughly washing the javla
  3. Add gram flour to adjust the consistency of the mixture.
  4. Fry over medium heat.
