Tips for making the perfect coffee cake

While the above recipe is a great starting point, there are a few tips and tricks you can use to make your coffee cake even more delicious.

Use Room Temperature Ingredients
To ensure that your coffee cake turns out perfectly, it’s important to use room temperature ingredients. This allows the ingredients to mix together more easily, resulting in a smoother batter and a more tender cake.

Don’t Overmix the Batter
When mixing the wet and dry ingredients together, it’s important not to overmix the batter. Overmixing can lead to a tough and dense cake. At this stage it is advisable to mix the batter with a spatula until just combined, then stop.

Add Some Flavour
While the above recipe is delicious as-is, you can easily add some extra flavors to the coffee cake. Try adding some chopped nuts, dried fruit, or chocolate chips to the batter for some added texture and flavour.

Don’t Overbake the Cake
Now that you have your cake ready for baking, it’s important that you don’t overbake it. Follow the instructions given in the recipe or use your own instincts as you know your oven well.
