Dalgona Coffee Cake

A delicious sponge cake with Dalgona Coffee Mixture topping

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup All purpose flour
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 4 tbsp Butter
  • ½ cup Milk
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • ½ tsp Vanilla essence

Dalgona Coffee Mixture

  • 2 tbsp Instant Coffee powder
  • 2 tbps Powdered Sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp Hot water

How To Make Coffee Cake At Home

  • In a mixing bowl beat eggs with sugar and vanilla essence till nice and creamy.
  • Fold in the all-purpose flour along with the baking powder
  • Melt butter in milk and mix well into the cake batter and pour into a greased loaf tin. Do not over-mix the cake batter
  • Put 2 - 3 tbsp of the Dalgona Coffee mixture over the cake and swirl it with a fork or a skewer.
  • Pre-heat your oven to 180°C and bake the cake for 35 minutes.

Notes

  1.  Do not add too much of the coffee mixture or your cake will turn out to be a little bitter.
  2. Add 1/4 tsp salt to the cake batter if using unsalted butter.
  3. Baking time depends on the temperature of your oven, so please check the cake after 30 minutes and bake accordingly.
  4. Don't over mix the cake batter.
  5. Don't over bake your coffee cake
