- ½ tsp Turmeric powder
- ½ tsp Salt
- 3 to 4 tbsp Oil for frying
For the marination
- 4 Dry Red Chillies
- 1 tsp Peppercorns

Marinate the Surmai slices with salt, turmeric and lemon juice and set aside for 10 minutes
Make a fine but thick paste of red chillies, peppercorns, coriander seeds, curry leaves and salt.
Apply this paste on the fish slices and allow to marinate for 20 to 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
Now heat 3 to 4 tbsp oil in a Tawa and fry the fish on both the sides till done.
Remove onto a plate and serve hot.
- Use red chillies as per your spice level.
- I used vegetable oil for frying the fish on a Tawa.
- Use any firm fish of your choice, but I prefer to use Surmai or Rawas.
