Spicy Mackerel Recipe Wash the mackerels and apply salt and turmeric. Set aside for at least 10 minutes.
Blend all the ingredients for the masala into a smooth paste.
Heat 2 tbsp oil in a fry pan and add a few curry leaves. Then add ½ of the blended masala paste into the pan and fry for one minute.
Now add the mackerels to the pan and top them with the remaining masala paste. Rinse the blender jar with half a cup of water and add to the pan.
Cover the pan and cook the mackerels for 4 to 5 minutes and then flip over and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes.
Next, check for seasonings and adjust accordingly. Add 2 or 3 tbsp vinegar and simmer for another minute and switch off the flame.
Finally garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
Adjust chillies to suit your taste. You could add only Kashmiri chillies or a mix of Kashmiri and bedki chillies.
Also, adjust vinegar as per your taste.
