Recipe of Chicken with Yogurt

Delicious Chicken recipe for yogurt chicken flavoured with mint.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 grams Chicken on the bone
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tbsp Oil for cooking
  • Whole spices (bay leaf-1, cinnamon 1-inch, cardamom -3, cloves 3 - 4)
  • 4 - 5 Green chillies, slit
  • ½ cup Fresh yogurt
  • 1 cup Fresh cream
  • ½ cup Mint leaves

For the Marination

  • 1 cup Fresh yogurt
  • 1 tsp Ginger/garlic paste
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • Salt to taste

Spice powders

  • 1 tsp Garam masala and nutmeg powder
  • 1 tsp Cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp Pepper powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder

Instructions
 

  • Marinate chicken with salt, yogurt and cumin powder for atleast 30 minutes.
  • Heat a pan or a kadai and add the oil and butter. Also add the whole spices .
  • When the spices begin to splutter add the marinated chicken. Cover and cook till the chicken is tender.
  • After 15 to 20 minutes the chicken should be cooked. Now add in 1/2 cup yogurt, garam masala & nutmeg powder, cardamom powder, pepper powder and 1 cup fresh cream.
  • Finally, add the mint leaves.

Notes

  1.  Adjust the quantity of yogurt and cream to suit your taste.
  2. If you need to make gravy for this recipe, add boiled onion paste after you add the whole spices
