Prawn Chilli Fry with Potatoes

A simple and delicious prawn recipe with onions and potatoes as the base. It has prawns along with simple spices and turmeric.

- 1 cup Prawns , shelled and deveined 15 to 16 prawns
- 2 medium Onions, sliced
- 1 medium Potato cubed and fried
- 1 tbsp Ginger juliennes
- 1 tbsp Garlic juliennes
- 4 to 5 Nos Green chillies slit
- ½ tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Garam Masala powder
- Juice of half a lemon
- ½ tsp Pepper powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp Oil for cooking
How to make Prawn Chilli Fry
Heat oil in a pan and add the slice onion. Fry for 2 to 3 minutes.
Now add the ginger and garlic juliennes and also the slit green chillies and fry till the onions are translucent.
Once the onions are translucent add in the shelled prawns, salt and turmeric powder.
Continue to stir fry till the prawns are almost cooked. This should take you about 4 to 5 minutes.
Now add the fried potatoes and mix well. Also add Garam masala powder.
Stir fry for another 2 to 3 minutes then finally add lemon juice and pepper powder.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
1. Do not overcook the prawns.
2. Use only minimum spices for this recipe to bring out the authentic taste of prawns.
