  • 500 grams Beef cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 3 Onions sliced
  • 4 to 5 Green chilies slit
  • 1- inch Ginger & 5 to 6 cloves garlic chopped
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 Tomato chopped

  • 2 to 3 tablespoons Vegetable oil for cooking

Instructions

How To Cook Beef Chilli Fry

  • In a bowl, combine the beef with ginger-garlic paste, and salt. Mix well to ensure that the ingredients coat the beef evenly. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat.
  • Transfer the beef to a pressure cooker. Add a teaspoon of oil and place it on medium heat stirring until the colour changes and releases moisture. Cover the lid and pressure cook till done.
  • Heat some vegetable oil in a fry pan. Add the sliced onions, slit chillies, chopped ginger and garlic and sauté over medium heat until the onions turn translucent.
  • Once the onions are translucent, add chopped tomato, salt and turmeric to the pan. Cook for a minute or two and then add the pressure cooked beef along with the stock.
  • Add pepper powder, garam masala and vinegar. Stir well to combine the beef with the spices and the vinegar.
  • Once done, check the seasoning and adjust it according to your taste. You can add more salt or spices if desired.
  • Finally, garnish the Beef Chilli Fry with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with chapati or bread.

Notes

  1.  Pressure cook beef for moist and juicy chilli fry.
  2.  Frying onions will add a depth of flavour to the dish
  3. Adjust chillies, garam masala and pepper to suit your taste.
  4. Garnish with coriander leaves for freshness.
  5. Add a dash of vinegar for extra flavour and zing. You can add lemon/lime juice instead of vinegar.
