Cuisine Indian
- 500 grams Mutton with bones
- 3 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- Whole Spices (Cardamom 4, Cinnamon 2 ", Cloves 5)
- 3 medium Onions, finely chopped
- 1 inch Ginger
- 6 Garlic cloves
- 8 Green chillies
- 300 ml Coconut Milk
- 1 Carrot
- ½ cup Green peas
- 6 - 7 French beans
- 1 tsp Garam Masala powder
- 1 tsp Black pepper powder
- 2 tbsp Lemon juice/vinegar
- Salt to taste
Add vegetable oil into a pot and then add a few whole spices. When the spices splutter add the crushed ginger, garlic, and chillies and fry for a few minutes.
Add finely chopped onions and saute the onions until they turn translucent.
Once the onions are translucent add the mutton pieces. Also, add salt to taste and half a teaspoon of turmeric powder. Fry the mutton pieces along with the onions for at least 2 minutes.
Now cover the pot and cook the mutton until done. This should take approx. 30 to 35 minutes depending on the meat as well as the cooking heat.
When the mutton is cooked add the vegetables, garam masala powder, and coconut milk. Cover the pot once again and allow the vegetables to cook.
After the vegetables are cooked, it's time to finish off the mutton/lamb stew with a generous dash of black pepper powder. Also, add lemon juice or vinegar to taste and finally add the remaining coconut milk. Simmer the stew for 2 minutes and then switch off the flame.
