Green Fish Curry Recipe

- 1 Slice of Rawas fish cut into cubes
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp salt
For the masala paste
- ½ cup fresh grated coconut
- ½ cup fresh coriander leaves
- 5 - 6 green chillies
- 1 inch ginger
- 7 - 8 garlic flakes
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- few whole spices (cinnamon, cloves & pepper)
- 1 lime size ball of tamarind
For the curry
- 2 - 3 tbsp oil
- 1 small onion chopped
- 1 sprig curry leaves
- 1 medium tomato chopped
- 2 green chillies, slit
- 2 cups water for the gravy add more if required.
- Salt to taste
Wash the fish, add salt and turmeric and marinate for 5 - 10 minutes.
Grind the ingredients for the masala to a fine paste.
Heat oil in a vessel, add chopped onion and curry leaves. Saute till onions are translucent.
Add the masala paste and fry for 1 - 2 minutes. Add the chopped tomato and green chillies.
Add 2 cups water and bring the curry to a boil. Now add the fish and simmer for 2 - 3 minutes till the fish is cooked. Add salt if required.
Green fish curry is ready. Serve with steamed rice or rotis.
