- 250 gms gavar / cluster beans snip the ends and break into 1-inch pieces
- 1 onion sliced
- 2 to 3 green chillies chopped
- ½ cup grated coconut
- 1 tsp coarsely ground pepper
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
- ½ tsp sugar
Wash the cluster beans well. Snip the ends and break them into small 1-inch pieces.
Heat oil in a pan. Add the chopped green chillies and stir for a few seconds. Then add the sliced onion and sauté until soft. Now add the cluster beans, salt, and sugar. Mix well and cook on medium heat. Sprinkle a little water if needed and cook until the beans turn tender.
Once the beans are cooked, add the grated coconut and coarsely ground pepper. Mix everything gently and cook for another 2 minutes on low heat.
Serve hot with chapatis, rice, dal, or curry.
- Do not overcook the cluster beans; let them have a slight crunch.
- Adjust coconut and chillies, as needed.
- Skip sugar if you don't like it.
- Add salt as per your taste.
