3 - 4Cloves
2mediumOnions, finely chopped
1inchGinger, chopped
7 - 8Green chillies, chopped
1Carrot, cut
1Potato, diced
1cupGreen peas
1cupCoconut milk
1tspPepper powder
½tspGaram masala powder
Juice of half a lime
3tbspOil for cooking
1tspSalt, or to taste
Instructions
Heat oil in a pan and add cinnamon stick and cloves. Add the chopped onions and fry till transclucent. Also add the chopped green chillies and giner.
When onions are translucent, add the chicken pieces and turmeric powder. Fry for 4 -5 minutes.
Now add the carrots, potato and green peas and mix well. Add coconut milk and let the chicken cook well along with the vegetables. Adjust the salt.
After the chicken is cooked add the pepper powder, garam masala powder and juice of half a lime. Let the stew simmer for 2 -3 minutes and then switch off the flame.
Notes
You can add mutton instead of chicken. But cook the mutton in a pressure cooker with some salt and then add to the onions.
If you find that the coconut milk has curdled, add a tsp of cornflour to half a cup of water and pour it into the stew.
After you add the vegetables, adjust the salt. Add more if required.
