Ingredients for a Flavourful Chicken Breast Marinade

To ensure that your pan-grilled chicken breast is bursting with flavour, a good marinade is essential. Here are some ingredients for a delicious marinade:

1. Barbecue sauce: Barbecue sauce is the key ingredient of this marination. Use good quality barbecue sauce, preferably smoky flavoured. This helps to infuse the chicken breast with its rich earthy flavours.

2. Oil: Olive oil, vegetable oil, or any other unflavoured oil serves as a base for the marinade and helps to lock in the moisture.

3. Soy and Chilli sauce: Choose your favorite sauces to add depth and complexity to the marinade. Popular options include chilli garlic sauce, oyster sauce and dark soy sauce.

4. Salt and Pepper: These basic seasonings are essential for enhancing the overall taste of the chicken breast.

Combine these ingredients in a bowl or add them directly to the chicken breast to create a flavourful marinade. Marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes or overnight. You can also customize the proportions of each ingredient according to your taste preferences.

How to pan-grill a perfectly tender and juicy chicken breast

Once you have your chicken marinated, follow these simple cooking techniques, and you’ll be able to enjoy a perfect chicken breast that is both tender and juicy. So let’s begin –

1. Preheat your pan grill over medium-high heat. It’s essential to have a hot grill to achieve a flavourful sear on the chicken breast.

2. Add a few drops of oil to the grill pan and allow it to heat before placing the chicken breast on it.

3. Cook the chicken undisturbed for about 5-6 minutes, depending on the thickness of the breast. Avoid flipping the chicken too soon, as this can cause it to stick to the pan.

4. Prepare a basting sauce: Into a bowl add 2 tbsp barbecue sauce, 1 tsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp chilli garlic sauce, 1 tbsp honey, and 1/2 tsp vinegar.

5. Once the chicken breast easily releases from the grill, baste it with the sauce and flip over using tongs. Continue basting and cooking the chicken breasts for another 6-8 minutes or until well seared and done. Resist the temptation to constantly flip the chicken so that it cooks evenly undisturbed.

6. Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. This allows the juices to seep in and ensures a moist and tender chicken.
