Chicken Curry with Mango | Recipe for Mango Chicken

Rich and Creamy Mango Chicken Curry with fresh mango, yogurt and spices.

- 500 grams Chicken, curry cut pieces
- 1 Ripe Mango - pureed
- 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp Garam masala powder Grind 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp cloves, 1/4 tsp cardamom, 1/4 tsp pepper (use 1 tsp only)
- 2 tbsp Fresh Cream optional
- Mint Leaves for garnish¼
For the Marination
- ½ cup Yoghurt
- ½ tsp Ginger/garlic paste
- 1 tbsp Red chilly powder
- 1 tbsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Cumin powder
- ½ tsp Turmeric powder
- ½ tsp Salt to taste
Recipe for Mango Chicken
Marinate chicken with the ingredients, under marination, for at least 30 minutes
Heat a pan, add oil and a few whole spices like cinnamon, cloves and cardamom saute onion till translucent.
Then add the marinated Chicken and fry for 2 to 3 minutes.
Now add ½ cup water, cover the vessel and cook for 10 to 15 minutes or till the chicken is tender.
After 15 minutes add the mango puree and 1 tsp garam masala powder.
Mix well and simmer for 2 minutes. Now add fresh cream and simmer for one more minute.
Garnish with mint leaves.
Serve mango chicken with naan or puris.
- To make garam masala, grind the following spices and use only 1 tsp.
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon sticks (break into small pcs)
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom (whole)
- 1/4 tsp Cloves
- 1/4 tsp Peppercorns
2. Use one ripe mango puree, preferably Alphonso mango
