  • 4 Cloves
  • 3 Green Cardamom

  • 2 tsp Red Chilli Powder (use a mix of red chilli and Kashmiri chilli powder)
  • ½ tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 tso Meat Masala (I used Shan Meat Masala)
  • ¼ cup Yogurt
  • 1 cup Water
  • 3 tbsp Oil for cooking
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander Leaves for garnish

Instructions

How to Cook Beef Curry in Pressure Cooker

  • Heat oil in a Pressure Cooker and then add the whole spices, cinnamon stick, cardamoms, cloves, and bay leaf.
  • Add the sliced onions and fry for a couple of minutes and then add in the ginger-garlic paste. Continue to fry until the onion turns light golden in colour.
  • Now add the Meat Masala, Chilli powder, and turmeric powder. Add 2 to 3 tbsp of water to avoid burning and fry for a minute. Then add the beef and seer the meat for 7 to 8 minutes on medium to high heat.
  • Add salt, slit green chillies, and 1 to 1.5 cups of water depending on the gravy you need. Cover the pressure cooker and cook the beef on medium to low heat for at least 30 minutes after the 1st whistle.
  • Now let the pressure release on its own. Open the lid of the pressure cooker and garnish with some fresh coriander leaves. At this stage, you could add lemon juice if your yogurt was not sour enough for the curry.

Notes

  1.  Adjust Meat Masala as per the instructions on the pack.  I used 'Shan Meat Masala'.
  2. Check the salt content in your meat masala and adjust accordingly in the curry.
  3. Add chilli powder as per your taste.
  4. Yogurt should not be too sour or too mild.
  5. You can also substitute yogurt with chopped tomatoes.
