When you refer to Tawa Fry, it implies shallow frying.  Surmai Tawa Fry is basically Surmai or Seer Fish that is shallow fried on a pan or a Tawa with little oil.

Marinate 3 to 4 Surmai fish slices  with   turmeric, lemon juice and salt.

Make a spice mix and apply to the fish.

heat 3 to 4 tbsp of oil in a flat pan or Tawa and fry the Surmai till done.

Steps to make  Surmai Tawa Fry

Marinate 3 to 4 Surmai fish slices  with 1/2 a tsp of turmeric powder, juice of half a lemon, and 1/2 tsp salt. Set the fish aside for at least 10 minutes.

Step I

– Then make a Spice Mix for the second marination. Red chillies – 04 Nos. Peppercorns – 1 tsp Coriander seeds – 1 tsp Curry leaves – 08 to 10   Salt – 3/4 tsp.

Step II

– Let the fish fry for 4-5 mins on one side and then flip over to cook on the other side. Fry for another 3 to 4 minutes on the 2nd side too. Flip over once again if required.
